The Cathedral is a fascinating bronze sculpture, moulded by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin. The figurine depicts two right hands that are about to touch. The effect of this decorative bronze statue is quite exceptional. With this presentation of two hands, Auguste Rodin manages to create a moment of deep intimacy and closeness that can be felt by the observer. The bronze sculpture is placed on a discreet, green marble base and bears the signature of the artist. This motif was created in 1908. On the original plaster model, one could read an inscription that referred to the hands of Rodin and his life partner of many years, Rose Beuret. The sculpture has been recreated in different designs, for example in stone, just as it can nowadays be seen at the Musée Rodin Paris among other places.
The production of our numerous bronze figurines is subject to strict quality guidelines. All of the bronze figurines in our assortment are created via the lost wax technique and are cast and refined by hand.
