The great artist Umberto Boccioni was born on October 13, 1882 in Italy and was a famous Italian painter as well as a sculptor of the futurism. Boccioni started to study in Rome, Italy at the Accademia di Belle Arti in 1901. In 1906 he went to Paris for studying Impressionist and the so-called Post-Impressionist. He moved to Venice in 1906 and later in 1907 to Milano. Boccioni wrote and published the “Manifest on Futurism“ with Gino Severini and Giacomo Balla. The sculpture “Unique Forms of Continuity in Space” which was created by him in 1913 includes several futuristic elements. The life of Boccioni ended in August 17, 1916 in a village near Verona. His famous sculpture “Unique Forms of Continuity in Space” is nowadays on the Italian 20 Cent coin.
