Beautiful Art Nouveau nude bronze dancer from F. Pompon

Art Nouveau in its most beautiful state: This bronze figure is particularly delicate. The female nude impresses by sensuality and elegance and consists of 100% finest bronze. It is mounted on a beautiful dark marble base and signed with the artist’s name.

As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.

François Pompon (1855-1933) was a French sculptor and animalier. Beginning in 1870 he studied under the noted animalier Pierre Louis Rouillard at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs. Later he worked as Auguste Rodin's assistant. He became famous for his stylized animals with L'Ours Blanc in 1922 (“The White Bear” also known as "Polar Bear in Stride"), a huge and impressive marble sculpture. The original is located at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. François Pompon may be considered as a forerunner of modern sculpture and influenced Constantin Brâncuși, among others.
