This impressive Animal sculpture was created by the Italian artist Rembrandt Bugatti. This lifelike figurine shows an Indian elephan standing on his rear legs and has his trunk raised. The Indian animal seems very realistic and is worked very naturally and in detail. The skin of the elephant is made with lots of artistic wrinkles and the observer can even see the tendons of the wild animal. This sculpture is set on a round shaped marble base and is a great image of the artistic handicraft of sculpting. The bronze Indian elephant will be a gain for each collection of high quality art pieces. It consists of 100% bronze and dark polished marble including the signature of it's creator: Bugatti.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-crafted in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.
The Italian sculptor Rembrandt Bugatti, who created this astounding bronze animal sculpture of an Indian elephant, was born in Milan in 1884 as the youngest son of Carlo Bugatti. Bugatti Sr. was an architect and designer and he hands on his talent to his son. In his works Rembrandt Bugatti especially focused on animal sculptures. During his activity as a great sculptor he lived in Milan, Paris and Antwerp. Although the artist was successful and well-known, Bugatti became depressive because of his experiences in a military hospital at the beginning of World War I. He also had health problems and liabilities, therefore he commited suicide in 1916 in Paris.
