Product description
"Gaston Lachaise Bronze Torso of two Legs, signed"
Weight | 14,3 kg |
In this rather unusual piece of art, we can see two legs in a bent position. These 100% bronze legs are set on a marble base and signed by the Franco-American sculptor Gaston Lachaise. Due to the simplicity of the motif and the few details, the spectator can concentrate on the proportions of these two legs – and fantasize about what lies beyond the edges of this nude art sculpture. This has a very special effect to the atmosphere this sculpture creates: even though not much is revealed, eroticism lies in the air. Lachaise manages to catch peoples’ attention without much effort.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.

Gaston Lachaise, who is popular for his fictile nude art sculptures, was born on March 19, 1882 in Paris and died on October 18, 1935 in New York City. When he was 13, Gaston Lachaise first discovered his passion for sculpting. Only few years later was he allowed to attend the Parisian Ècole des Beaux-Arts. It was during that period that Gaston Lachaise exhibited for the first time. He later moved to America to follow his big love and inspiration Isabel. There he continued producing and exhibiting his nude art works.
