This beautiful Art Nouveau sculpture, showing a happy little child on a stool, is cast true to the original by Juan Clara, an artist who is well-known for his children’s plastics. With its very realistic and detailed design, this bronze figure almost reminds us of a little angel. The young boy is sitting on a stool that he has just climbed and is wearing a toga. His smile creates a cheerful atmosphere that delights the observer. Of course, this sculpture by Juan Clara is made of 100% bronze and signed by the artist.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-casted in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.
Little is known about the artist Juan Clara. All we can say is that he was born in 1875 in a little Spanish town called Olot and that he as a sculptor concentrated on children’s sculptures. Juan Clara's plastics were casted in Goldscheider’s foundry in Paris and many of them were exhibited in Paris. His very realistic and detailed figurines still fascinate many people all over the world today.
