"Modern Art Sculpture - Mother and Child (1907) - sign. Lehmbruck"
Weight | 12 kg |
The bronze „Mother and Child“ was created after a design of the famous German sculptor Wilhelm Lehmbruck and is showing a undressed mother holding her little child in her arm. The so-called “Mother-and-Child-Motive”, that Lehmbruck realized with this sculpture, was part of his artwork since his first travel to Italy in 1905. The original of this sculpture was created by Lehmbruck in 1907 and was made of gypsum. Our recast was made of 100% finest bronze and is signed with “W. Lehmbruck”. Lehmbruck made first drawings of „Mother and Child“ in 1905. The sculpture „Mother and Child“ can be considered as a typical Lehmbruck sculpture, because both persons are pictured with estranged facial expressions. Furthermore the sculpture has a less detailed and also kind of vividly looking surface. This Modern Art sculpture is a real masterpiece, because of the great motive and because of the innovative depiction of the two humans.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.
