Product description

"Modern Sculpture - Ostrich (2 parts), Homage to S. Dali, signed"

Weight 4,1 kg

The abstract modern sculpture “Ostrich” is an amazing homage of the artwork of the great Salvador Dali. The bird sculpture is looking kind of surreal – like the art work of Dali – because of the different designed body of the modern sculpture “Ostrich”. The body was made of two parts – an abstract scaffolding and a round form looking like the egg of an ostrich. Furthermore the surface of the sculpture is designed modern and abstract and is creating a great contrast to the egg-shaped body of the bird. A great feature of the animal sculpture “Ostrich” is the connection of different designed surfaces and the fact, that even the level of abstraction is high, the bird is still recognizable. “Ostrich” gets perfected by a signature as well as by being affixed on a bright marble base.

As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.

As a result of this two tragedies Dali refused eating and needed nutrition by a nasal probe. A next worse accident happened in 1984; Dali got serious burns and was supposed to stay at the hospital.
