"Stargazer" Attractive Modern Art Sculpture, signed Milo

„Stargazer“ is a modern art sculpture made by the Portuguese artist Miguel Fernando Lopez, better known as the great Milo. The fancy exhibit is showing a young woman watching the stars while sitting on a huge stone. Her dress as well as her haircut reminds of the roaring twenties and the epoch of Art Deco. The modern and very filigree sculpture was made of finest bronze and affixed on an oval marble-base shaped like the sculpture. „Stargazer“ is as impressing bronze figure because of the lovely motive as well as because of the different designs of the surfaces of the sculpture. While the skinny legs of the young woman are designed in a smooth way, the big stone is naturally designed like a stone and the beautiful dress is decorated with many little edges. For the last perfect touch the attractive modern art sculpture got signed by Milo.

As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.

Miguel Fernando Lopez – also and better known as the Portuguese artist Milo – was born on June 12, 1955 in Lisbon. As a young male he studied art and focused on creating three different kinds of sculptures: modern art sculptures, animal sculptures and nude bronze figures. One of his favourite materials is bronze, an alloy made of tin and copper. Bronze is a very timeless material with a noble surface and very good processing characteristics. The Portuguese sculptor Milo likes to work with bronze because the material is very resistant and long-lasting. Furthermore bronze is also well usable for outside areas and after a while sculptures and figures made of bronze get a very nice patina by wind and weather.
