Art Nouveau Bronze Sculpture - Boy with Thorn - signed Milo

The figure „Boy with Thorn“ is a very popular motif in the area of sculpting. A naked boy is sitting on a rock and is pulling a thorn out of his left foot. He is bending his left leg and is putting it on the right thigh of the right leg. The boy is pulling the thorn out of his foot with a tended head. The figure is well-sculpted and rich in detail, the boys hair is well combed and the slim body of the boy is gracefully displayed. The sculpture has the signature of the artist Milo and the object is made of 100% bronze.

The Portuguese artist Miguel Fernando Lopez, known as Milo, was born on July 12 in 1955 in Lisbon. He grew up in the Portuguese capital city. Today he lives in a quiet suburb of Lisbon. Milo especially creates animal sculptures, nude figures and modern objects. He studied visual art and in that time he also sold some sculptures. Because of his familiar surroundings he was characterized by art such as his father working as an art dealer. In the university he got to know his wife and had three sons with her. The beginning of the real success was after his study.
