Milo’s “Moai Head on Easter Island” is an almost perfect replica of one of the giant stone heads on Easter Island, located in the south-eastern Pacific Ocean. Approximately 890 giant stone heads of up to twenty meters stand on the island, especially on the coast lines. The time of their origin is not known. The question of their purpose is not clarified until today. The face of the existing volcanic sandstone colossi makes any visitor stop in awe. Milo was inspired by them and reproduces one of them in a most artistic manner. The disembodied figure is characterized by a straight, closed mouth, long ears and a broad nose. These attributes remind us, without any doubt, of the original. In 1995 the island was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Milo is a renowned sculptor of Portuguese origin. His father, who worked as an art dealer, soon recognized Milos great artistic talent. During his studies of Fine Arts Milo worked frantically  on  his sculptures. In his homeland, he's now an esteemed creator of modern nude and animal sculptures and works for numerous renowned foundries.
