This extraordinary bird that was originally created by Rembrandt Bugatti, is a Marabou Stork, a species found in Africa. The Marabou Stork is a large wading bird within the stork family breeds in Africa, south of the Sahara. Bugatti’s sculpture is characterized by a complex surface structure and is mounted on a black marble base, marked with the signature of the artist.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this bronze Marabou is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.
Rembrandt Bugatti (1884-1916) was an Italian sculptor whose work mainly includes animal sculptures. Bugatti is one of the most important pioneers of the Art déco style. He is the younger brother of the automobile designer Ettore Bugatti. Among other things, he created the famous mascot of the Bugatti Type 41 "Royale", a standing elephant.
