Historic bronze figure - Napoleon Bonaparte - sign. Milo

This bronze sculpture is a replica of the French statesman Napoleon Bonaparte. According to popular historical myth Napoleon has been of short stature. This was popularized by the British propaganda which Napoleon always represented as very small in their cartoons. The sculpture on the left represents Napoleon as small man, but without caricaturing him. On his head he wears an imposing two-cornered hat. His arms he clasped confidently in front of his noble uniform - a venerable homage to the great French Emperor. The sculpture is mounted on a black marble base and bears signature of the artist.

Milo is a Portuguese-born sculptor, who achieved great fame with its distinctive animal sculptures and erotic plastics. Milo completed his studies of art, ever since then he worked as a freelance artist. With his wife and his son Pablo, also a promising artist of undoubted talent, he lives and works in a suburb of the Portuguese capital Lisbon.
