Product description
"Devil bust with Virgin - Vienna Bronze - Bergmann Stamp"
Weight | 2,1 kg |
The bronze figure on the left is an erotic work of art from the time of the Vienna bronze, a devil-bust with a Virgin. The naked virgin leans devoted to the oversized upper body of the devil while the golden surface of the virgin stands out on the background. The sculpture is positioned on a marble base and hallmarked with the stamp of the famous Bergmann foundry. A collector's item for fans of erotic art and in particular of the Vienna bronzes.
The bronze sculptures are made with the help of the lost-wax casting. The objects are done in hand-work and strict quality instructions are very important for a high quality. So we care for the compliance.
The founder of the famous bronze production in Vienna, Franz Bergmann, was born on 26 September 1838. At a young age he came to Vienna and learnt the processing of bronze. 1860 Franz Bergmann completed his master's examination for chaser. It was at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1884, where Bergmann first came into contact with the Bronze Art of France and went on to learn to know the art of nature patina. The creation of the bronze foundry was a great success and the animal figures and erotic bronzes are now very popular as collector pieces.
