"Imperial Eagle on an Iron Cross - First World War - Real Bronze"
Weight | 1,4 kg |
This sculpture shows a stylized imperial eagle with outspread wings on a wreath of oak leaves, which is included in an Iron Cross. That symbol is also found on the Brandenburg Gate: The quadriga on the Brandenburg Gate depicts the Iron Cross of 1813 in an wreath of oak leaves with a crowned Prussian eagle above.
The military decoration called the Iron Cross which existed in the Kingdom of Prussia, and later in the German Empire and Third Reich, was established by King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia and first awarded on the 10th of March in 1813 during the Napoleonic Wars. The recommissioned Iron Cross was also awarded during the Franco-Prussian War, World War I, and World War II.
As all of the bronze products in our shop, this exhibit is hand-cast in our own foundry and subject to our strict quality inspections throughout the entire process of fabrication. All of our sculptures are exclusively compounded with the help of lost-wax casting.
