Product description
"Russian Cossack - Bronze Figure - Eugene Lanceray - Real Bronze"
Weight | 9,3 kg |
The original of this Cossack was designed by Eugene Lanceray (Yevgeny Yevgenyevich Lansere). Cossacks are characterized by an extraordinary vivacity and cheerfulness. Cossacks are a group of predominantly East Slavic people who became known as members of democratic, semi-military communities, predominantly located in Ukraine and in Southern Russia. They inhabited sparsely populated areas and islands in the lower Dnieper, Don, Terek, and Ural river basins and played an important role in the historical and cultural development of both Russia and Ukraine. The sculpture on the left is signed with “E. Lanceray”.

Eugene Lanceray (1875-1946) was a Russian and Soviet painter, book artist and associated stylistically with Mir iskusstva (the World of Art), an influential Russian art movement inspired by an artistic journal of the same name, founded in 1899, in Saint Petersburg. Other prominent members of Mir iskusstva included Lanceray's uncle Alexandre Benois, Konstantin Somov, Walter Nouvel, Léon Bakst, and Dmitry Filosofov. Like other members of Mir iskusstva, he was fascinated with the "sparkling dust" of Rococo art, and often turned to 18th-century Russian history and art for inspiration.
The bronze Cossack was produced in a complex process and is made of 100% bronze. The product was cast using the lost wax method, which guarantees a high degree of dimensional accuracy and surface quality. Strict quality criteria guarantee the highest quality.
