"Blue Fiberglass Figure - Balloon Dog - Tribute to Jeff Koons"
The original "Balloon Dog" was made by the American artist Jeff Koons and was auctioned at Christie's in 2013 for $ 58.4 million. Jeff Koons' Balloon Dog is considered the supreme example from the highly acclaimed Celebration series of paintings and sculptures that Koons instigated in the early 1990s. The series evolved from his desire to recreate the ecstatic experiences of a child's enjoyment of the world through universal signifiers representing birthday parties and festive events. It is one of five unique Balloon Dog sculptures made from precision engineered, mirror-polished stainless steel and finished with a translucent coating of blue, magenta, orange, red, or yellow. The adjoining fiberglass figure pays tribute to the great artist Jeff Koon.

Jeffrey "Jeff" Koons (born January 21, 1955) is an American artist known for his reproductions of banal objects - such as balloon animals produced in stainless steel with mirror-finish surfaces. He lives and works in both New York City and his hometown of York, Pennsylvania. His works have sold for substantial sums of money, including at least one world record auction price for a work by a living artist. On November 12, 2013, Koons’s Balloon Dog (Orange) sold at Christie's Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale in New York City for $58.4 million, above its high $55 million estimate, becoming the most expensive work by a living artist sold at auction.
