Product description
"Art Nouveau Bronze Sculpture- Fairy with Birds - sign. Moreau"
Weight | 1 kg |
This lovely bronze Art Nouveau statue depicts a fairy playing with a songbird. The child-like face appears really cute. The joy she gets from playing with the bird can be seen on the little fairy's face. She lifts one hand in order to get the bird's attention and it seems as if she is talking to it. Her other hand holds the light cloths which loosely cover the fairy's body. Her back is graced with little wings which are reminiscent of a butterfly's. Her soft, curly hair is bound back with a small hair band. The bronze statue rests on a playfully decorated bronze base which slightly raises her up and thus puts her in the limelight.
Like all of the other bronze statues for sale in our shop, this exhibit has been cast by hand. It is subject to our strict quality guidelines. Just as all of our sculptures for sale, this fairy has been produced by using the lost wax technique. It is made of 100% bronze.
Auguste Moreau was born as the son of famous painter Jean-Baptiste Moreau. He was born in Paris in 1834 and spent most of his life in France. With a graceful style, the artist produced numerous playful and imaginative sculptures. His first exhibition was in 1861. In 1917, Auguste Moreau died at the age of 83.
