He is said to be one of the greatest and most significant German composers of classical music - Ludwig van Beethoven. Famous for his masterly piano skills, the Bonn-based pianist went down in history as a musical genius. The artist Teupheme also took up this motif of a genius and designed an opulent bronze sculpture of Beethoven, showing the composer in a moment of complete concentration. Deep in thought, the composer leans on a beautifully decorated pillar. Placed on a discreet, dark marble base, this bronze statue is defined by an impressive play of colours that is achieved via a partially green patina at the hair and clothes.

Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn/Germany, in December 1770. His musical virtuosity turned the pianist and composer into one of the most influential musical personalities of the First Viennese School. He died in Vienna in 1827, but one could say that his remarkable symphonies and improvisations on the piano made him immortal.
