This decorative small bronze figurine is an homage to the English dachshund. Originally from France, from the mid-19th century on the basset hound was primarily bred in England, where it was used for hunting. Its main characteristics are its relatively bulky body, short legs, noticeably long ears and a headstrong yet gentle character. These characteristics were also used by the artist Milo when he created this charismatic dog figurine. The delicately designed surface structure of the dog in particular helped in bringing this authentic bronze sculpture to life. The signed basset hound figurine is placed on a colourful marble base which skilfully rounds off the sculpture’s overall effect.
