This opulent bronze figurine by Rembrandt Bugatti depicts an authentically designed Baboon that was placed on a discreet marble base. The sculpture seamlessly fits into the artist’s overall work, which consists of more than 300 animal figurines. Exotic animals in particular moved more and more into the sculptor’s main focus. Bugatti defined every animal as an individual being, which is why this delicately designed baboon figurine intends to convey this sense of individuality. The baboon sculpture is limited to 20 exclusive pieces and serially numbered.
During the creation of our bronze sculptures, we focus on quality and traditional ways of production. Constant quality inspections guarantee the high quality of our bronze sculptures and figurines, which are created via the lost wax technique.
Rembrandt Bugatti (1884 - 1916) was an Italian artist who spent almost all of his life in Paris. Inspired by the numerous animal species in Paris’ Jardin de Plantes, Bugatti began to create animal sculptures. When he died at the young age of 31, he had managed to produce more than 300 bronze sculptures. Nowadays, most of his animal sculptures belong to private collectors.
