Erased Man II is an abstract bronze sculpture by Martin Klein that is exclusively limited to 20 pieces. Placed on a simple bronze base that merges harmoniously with the overall image of the contemporary sculpture, Erased Man II depicts the fragmented shape of a walking man. The calculated erasure of certain body parts was a structural challenge for the artist Martin Klein, as he early on decided on giving the most delicate part of his sculpture a pivotal role in terms of its supportability. Thus, the area between the bag, hand and arm became the only link between the lower and upper body of the figurine. The bronze figurine was painted by hand, which skilfully highlights the depicted materials. Both the surface design and the choice of colours expertly interact with each other. This way, the bronze sculpture appears smooth and dynamic despite its solid composition. The contemporary sculpture is equipped with the artist’s signature and is part of a series of sculptures that deal with the fragmented portrayal of the human body.
