Bronze Family of Elephants on Ship Plank - Animal Figurine by Milo

Placed on a ship plank that was refined by hand, this dynamic group of figurines by Portuguese sculptor Milo depicts an elephant family with an elephant bull, cow and calf. The very realistically designed elephant figurines are tightly screwed onto the wooden base from below. The motif is only abstracted by the contemporary surface design in the form of an elaborate stamp print patina. The striking marbling of the three elephants in various sand and brown tones creates the perfect symbiosis between the ship plank and the sculpture. This is further enhanced by the discreet colour progression of the bronze sculptures that starts at the core of the bodies of the elephant figurines and ends at their limbs. The golden colour of the opulent elephant tusks further accentuates the overall effect of this contemporary bronze sculpture.
