La Valse or Les Valseurs (The Waltz or The Waltz Dancers) is a contemporary bronze sculpture by Camille Claudel, a French artist who was in an intimate relationship with famous sculptor Auguste Rodin. Thus, her sculptures definitely show certain influences by the great French artist who nowadays is seen as the founder of the modern sculpture. La Valse was created in the last decade of the 19th century and depicts a dancing pair in a close embrace. The waltz dancers are portrayed in a state of deep intimacy and closeness. The strongly tilted position of both figures is a typical characteristic of Camille Claudel’s sculptures. While the male part is completely in the nude, the soft flowing robe of the young woman builds a frame for the bronze sculpture and seamlessly merges into the base of the figurine. Several polishings accentuate the signed figurine that is seen as the magnum opus of the French sculptor.
The production of our bronze figurines is subject to strict quality guidelines. All of the sculptures are cast and refined by hand. All of the bronze figurines in our assortment are produced via the lost wax technique.
