This contemporary animal sculpture by Italian sculptor Rembrandt Bugatti depicts an Indian rhinoceros. Positioned on a discreet green marble base, the exotic animal figurine that is made from 100% bronze is characterised by a highly authentic design, reaching from its natural proportions to a detailed surface design. Partial polishings of the bronze material help to skilfully accentuate certain parts of this contemporary sculpture. Rembrandt Bugatti (1884 - 1916) was an Italian sculptor who early on specialised in animal depictions. Numerous visits to the Parisian zoo provided him with a plethora of inspirations. Nowadays, his authentic animal figurines are particularly sought-after by collectors. In total, Rembrandt Bugatti created more than 300 different animal sculptures during his short life. He put an end to his own life in 1916 at the young age of 31.
